Spring burial for Mrs. Kentana will be Saturday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery, Marine Street, Thomaston.
Litchfield Violet L. Kentana, 97, entered into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. She was the wife of the late, Robert J. Kentana.
Violet was born on September 13, 1927, daughter of Jesse and Margaret (Cipple) Finkle. Raised in Thomaston, Violet worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, Kentana Excavating. Violet was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother, and was loved beyond words by all who knew her.
Violet loved crocheting, scrap booking, and making quilts for her family members. She played guitar, loved music and loved listening to her grandsons perform their jam sessions in her living room. The best times of her life were spent cooking her amazingly delicious meals for her family members or simply just spending time with them. Her family was her passion. She left a positive impact on everyone who knew her with her endless supply of love, support, kindness and generosity. Without question, the world has lost an incredible woman who was deeply rooted in her Christian faith.
Violet is survived by her loving daughters, Patricia Sanford, and her husband, Richard; Sandra Kentana; and Sherri Kentana, all of Thomaston; her five grandchildren, Elizabeth Sanford; Tracey Samela; Erin Audet; Holden Truelove; and Mason Truelove; 9 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Including her beloved husband and parents, Violet was sadly predeceased by her two cherished grandsons, Richard Sanford, Jr.; and Benjamin Sanford; and her siblings, Florence Foster; Herbert Finkle; and Robert Finkle.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 6 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High Street, Thomaston. Burial will be held in the Spring.
