Thomaston Pamela J. Samela, 74, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 27, 2025. She was the wife of the late Nicholas L. Samela.
Pamela was born in Waterbury on August 21, 1950, to the late Leslie Simpson Jr. and Gladys (Cartlidge) Simpson. Pamela grew up in Bantam with her Nana, Mother and three siblings and graduated from Litchfield High School, Class of 1968. She worked for Stop & Shop for over 30 years. She enjoyed her flower gardens, crafts, cooking, and lunches with her girlfriends. Most importantly, Pamela loved her family deeply, her sons and grandchildren were cherished beyond words.
She leaves behind her beloved sons, Richard DeLong, and his partner, Tonya Flewelling, of Torrington; and Christopher DeLong, and his partner, Michelle Zipke, of Litchfield; her treasured grandchildren, Jonathan; Meghan; and Nevaeh; her brother, Robert Simpson, and his wife, Jo, of New Mexico; her nieces and nephews, Darren; Lori; and Michael; and other extended family.
Including her husband and parents, Pamela is predeceased by her 2 siblings, Lois Lounsbury; and David Simpson.
Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8 at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High Street, Thomaston. A funeral home service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held in the Spring.
