Thomaston Patricia (Lefevre) Krin, 77, passed away on Sunday, July 7, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of Robert E. Gross.
Patricia was born September 28, 1946, in Waterbury, daughter of the late William J. and Bernice (Bergen) Lefevre. Raised in Waterbury she attended local schools and was a graduate of Croft High School and then received her RN degree from the St. Marys Hospital School of Nursing in 1967. She went on to receive her bachelors degree from University of Hartford and then received two masters degrees from St. Joseph College in West Hartford and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, MA.
Patricia had a long and dedicated career in nursing. She retired as the Executive Director of the National Board for the Cerification of School Nurses. Over the years she has been employed or served in many capacities, including, consulting on school nursing for the towns of Meriden and Middletown, served as Director of School Nurses in Newington for thirteen years and as Nurse Supervisor of Schools for the Town of Thomaston and served as a part time Nurse Practioner in the Town of Thomaston. She was a member and past president of the Association of School Nurses of Connecticut, served on the Executive Board of the National Association of School Nurses, as well as a Fellow of the National Association of School Nurses and was a member of the Connecticut Nurses Honor Guard.
She was a faithful and dedicated member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Thomaston and had served on many committees over the years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Jeremy M. Krin and his wife Lisa of Terryville; one sister, Veronica LeDuc of Thomaston and several nieces and nephews. She will also be sorely missed by her beloved dogs Pete, Brady and Toby
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, at 11:00 A.M. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 505 South Main St. Thomaston. Burial will be private.
