Thomaston Patricia A. Mozelak Cheek, 79, of Thomaston, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the loving wife of Roy Cheek. Pat was born on January 7, 1944 in Hartford and grew up in Unionville, daughter of the late Anthony and Simone (Lavalle) Fantasia. Pat had a successful career as a realtor in both Hartford and Litchfield Counties. She enjoyed her weekly hair and nail appointments, local fairs, Irish music, shopping, bus trips to the casino, spending time in Old Lyme Shores, attending her granddaughter Paytons games/running events, weekly dinners with her girlfriends, and playing cards at the Thomaston Fish & Game Club. Pat was an avid reader and a passionate walker who put in her 5-10 miles daily, no matter the location. Never without a paper towel or Werthers Candies in her pocket, she greeted everyone with her warm smile. She cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. Having Pat as your Grammy was like having an armyknowing that someone was on your side, always, whatever the details. Besides her husband Roy and his children Angie and Jeff, Pat is survived by her children, Brian Mozelak and daughter in-law Abby of Thomaston, and Jonathan Mozelak of Torrington; stepson Andrew Mozelak and his wife Debbie of New Hartford; daughter-in law Karen Morris of Torrington; 7 grandchildren, Payton, Kurtis, Krista, Matthew, Megan, Marisa, and Mark; and her lifelong friend Sandy Andre and her husband Arnold of Bristol. She was predeceased by her son Kevin Mozelak, and her first husband Andy Mozelak, Sr. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church, 1 East Main St., Thomaston.
