Thomaston - Raymond J. Neddermann Sr., 88 of Thomaston, passed away on Sunday October 16, 2022 after a valiant 20-month battle against the effects of Covid-19, with loved ones at his side. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 45 years Beverly (Dubauskas) Neddermann. Ray was born on May 18, 1934 in Waterbury, CT to the late William and Clara (Grunder) Neddermann. He was a lifelong Thomaston resident and member of St. Peters - Trinity Church. Ray graduated from Thomaston High School in 1952. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and was an active member of the Thomaston Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 Years. He worked for the U. S. Postal Service for 37 years, retiring from the Grand Street Waterbury facility. Ray was also a member of Torrington Elks Lodge #372 and Torrington AMVETS. Survivors include sons Raymond Neddermann Jr. and Paul Neddermann of Thomaston and daughter Sharon Neddermann of Northfield; grandchildren Kurtis Neddermann of Thomaston and Brittany Strode of Indiana; sisters Clara Piotrowski of Thomaston and Martha Kawiecki of Bristol; many nieces and nephews; as well as longtime companion Isabella Abendroth of Southington. Ray was predeceased by brothers William, Arthur and Charles Neddermann; and sisters Doris Budney, Mildred Twining and Alice Lavado Thurlow. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 22 at 11 AM at St. Peters - Trinity Church, 160 Main St., Thomaston. A burial with full military honors will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston.
