Obituary

Bristol- Mr. Richard Leigh Cray, 62, also known as "Yahoo" "Rebel" and "Survivor" died Thursday, July 10 at his home. Mr. Cray was born March 15, 1946 in Presque Isle, Maine son of the late Clarence Edmund and Ruth Elizabeth (Walton) Cray. He had been employed as a machine operator at Curtiss Manufacturing in Waterbury and had served honorably in the United States Army. An active member of the American Legion he belonged to the Thomaston Post # 22 and the Oakville Post #195 and served as a delegate and as a chaplain. He was a member of the Presque Isle Police Academy and served as a notary public in the state of Maine. His hobbies included many mediums of art and painting, music, fishing and hunting. He is survived by one son, Jason L. Cray of Maine; one daughter, Veronica Lynn Krampitz of Bristol; seven grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two sisters, Marie Ouellette and Roberta Ouellette. Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 13 at 5:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Burial with full military honors will be held Wednesday, July 16 in the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Caribou, ME. Calling hours are Sunday, July 13 from 3:00 P.M. until time of service.
