Thomaston Robert W. Magdziarz, 85, of Thomaston, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Rose Haven in Litchfield. Robert, a lifelong resident of Thomaston was born on July 14, 1933. He was a graduate of Thomaston High School and served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Robert was very involved and interested in Thomaston History and was an avid member of the Thomaston Historical Society where he served as President for many years. He also hosted many local radio and television shows throughout the years, most recently "Looking Back in Time," on Cable 5 television. Robert is survived by his beloved M. Frances Skerstonas; his nephew Kevin Mackiewicz and his wife Sharon of Litchfield; and his siblings, nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church (St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish) 1 East Main St., Thomaston.
