Robert W. Peterson III, 64, of Northfield, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 6th, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 2, 1961, to Robert and Annette Peterson of Norwalk, CT.
Known affectionately as "Robbie" to his family and friends and "Papa" to his grandsons, Rob was an avid golfer, a champion skeet shooter, and a lover of upland game hunting and fishing. He worked as a plumber for the Heritage Village Master Association in Southbury for 38 years before retiring this past May.
Rob will be remembered for his gentle demeanor, his sense of humor, and his wisdom. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially with his wife Darlene and his grandsons, Wyatt and Cooper. His love and devotion to his family will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene of Northfield; daughter, Erika Peterson of Bethlehem; son, Austin Peterson and his wife, Taylor of Bristol; and two grandsons, Wyatt and Cooper Peterson of Bristol. In addition, he is survived by his grandmother, Carmela Caputo; his mother, Annette Peterson-Robinson; and his sister, Tracy Brady of Naples, Florida, along with a large extended family. Rob also leaves behind many who were not related to him, but considered him to be a father, brother, or mentor.
A private burial will be held at a later date, followed by a celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rob's name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org).
