Harwinton – Rosalie Mary Murphy, 79, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Philip J. Murphy for 58 years.

Rosalie was born in Waterbury on May 12, 1946, daughter of the late Louis and Evelyn (Paternoster) Diliberto. She was a graduate of Watertown High School and worked for many years at Jaci Carroll and Bristol Babcock.

Rosalie loved the beach and treasured family vacations to the Outer Banks, Rhode Island, and winter trips to Florida with her husband. She and Phil enjoyed going out to dinner with neighbors and friends and Friday cards. A high school cheerleader, she carried her love of music & dancing throughout her life. A perfect day for Rosalie would be getting her nails done with friends and family, going out to lunch with her girlfriends and a trip to the casino. She loved celebrating traditional Italian Christmas Eve, creating memories that will live on for generations. Above all, Rosalie cherished spending time with her family and took great joy in hosting Sunday dinners. She treasured every moment spent with grandchildren finding her greatest joy in their laughter and love.

Including her husband, Philip, Rosalie leaves behind her children, Patrick Murphy, and his wife, Kristy, of Canton; and Breia Pinette, and her husband, Michael, of Harwinton; her grandchildren, Alyssa, Bridgette, Caitrina, Nathan, Nicholas, and Cassidy; her brother, Louis Diliberto, and his wife, Anna, of Charlestown, RI; her brother-in-law Bill Murphy and his wife Cassie; her sister-in-law Rosalie Bellemare and her partner Keith Revaz, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends and was predeceased by her sister-in-law Patricia Salovski.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High Street, Thomaston. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
