Thomaston Sadie E. (Newton) Scheppard, 97, of Thomaston, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Litchfield Woods in Torrington. She was the loving wife of the late Stuart Scheppard for fifty-four years. Sadie was born on July 8, 1921 in Maribel, NC, daughter of the late James and Sadie (Lincoln) Newton. Sadie was a graduate of Stonewall High School in Pamlico, N.C. and a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Thomaston. She worked for the Seth Thomas Clock Co. and Secondary Products for many years before her retirement. Sadie is survived by her daughter, Carol Scheppard of Bridgewater, Virginia; her son, John Scheppard and his wife Cynthia of Thomaston; her brother George Newton of Beaufort, NC, two grandchildren, Aimee Curtis and her husband John of Middlefield, CT, and Adam Scheppard of Portland, Maine; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held privately. Services Private Services
