Plymouth- Mr. Terry G. Hoyt, 69, died Tuesday, June 7. He was the husband of Judy M. (Stankavich) Hoyt.
Terry was born May 15, 1942 in Monticello, Maine son of the late Winslow and Beatrice (Codrey) Hoyt. He was raised in Maine and moved to Waterbury in 1962 where he met his future wife Judy. He has been a resident of Plymouth for the last 32 years. Terry worked in construction for many years and was a 30 year member of the Laborers Union # 675. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a former member of the Thomaston Fish and Game Club, was a member of the NRA and enjoyed his Sunday rides looking for deer. He loved NASCAR and was an avid Dale Earnhardt, Jr fan. He will be remembered for his love of family and the joy he found in spending time with his grandchildren and many friends.
In addition to his wife of 48 years he is survived by three sons, Jerome G. Hoyt and his wife Charise of Terryville, Timothy W. Hoyt and his wife Anna of Davie, FL and Randy G. Hoyt, Sr of Terryville; one daughter, Wendy K. Kirschner and her husband Matthew of Torrington; two sisters, Dolores Benson of Waterbury and Madge Ward of Oakville; eight grandchildren, Toni Stevens, Chaz Hoyt, Zara Hoyt, Jerome Hoyt, BreAnna Hoyt, Jacob Hoyt, Cody Kirshner and Randy Hoyt, Jr; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and his faithful dog Ella.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 10, at 11:00 A.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday evening from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
