Torrington- Mr. Thomas "Chopper" Bidmead, Sr., 59, formerly of Thomaston, died Tuesday, May 27 at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. Mr. Bidmead was born March 11, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York son of the late Frederick and Margaret (Coleman) Bidmead. He had been employed by Bozzutos IGA as a produce inspector for over twenty years. He is survived by two sons, Thomas Bidmead, Jr. and his wife Lorie of Oakville and Richard Bidmead and his wife Laura of Thomaston; one daughter, Dina Bidmead of Oakville; four sisters, Lillian Sottile, Peggy Sottile, Betty Anne Shea and Jeanne Idice; five grandchildren, Jessica, Erica, Kayla, Briana and Clayton and several nephews and nieces. Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 31 at 1:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston.
