Obituary

Thomas P. Costick, 68, of Thomaston, passed away peacefully at Cook- Willow in Plymouth, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Tommy was born on September 1, 1952 to Thomas G. and Dorothy P. (Craig) Costick. He lived his entire life in Thomaston and was a THS graduate, class of 1971. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion, Post 22 of Thomaston, and the Liederkrantz Men's Club. Tom worked at Torrington Company for 33 years until his illness forced him to retire. 'T.C.', as he was known to his friends, was a kind, gentle soul. He enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He could often be found playing pool, whether in a tournament or just a friendly game. He won more than a few of those in his day. He also enjoyed playing cards and conversing with his friends at the club. He is survived by his two sisters who were also his caregivers for the last 20 years: Patricia Mowry (Russ) of Candia, NH; Kerrie Leveillee (David) of Thomaston; and a brother Kim Costick of Atlantic City, NJ, and many friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Cook-Willow of Plymouth for their compassion and care during his stay, and also Dr. Clarence T. Sasaki and the staff of Smilow Cancer Hospital for their concern and compassionate care over the years. Donations in his memory may be made to the Thomaston Volunteer Ambulance, South Main Street, Thomaston, CT, 06787. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
