Thomas J. Maddalena, 52, passed away on Saturday, November 2. He was the husband of Irma (Santos) Maddalena.
Tom was born October 17, 1972, son of Joseph M. Maddelena, Sr of Terryville and the late Betty Anne (Bernier) Maddalena. Raised in Thomaston, Tom was a graduate of Thomaston High School, class of 1990. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science from the University of Connecticut. Tom started his career with Cartus in Danbury and was currently Head of Office of Continuous Improvement at the Yale School of Medicine.
Tom had a love for vintage automobiles and often attended car shows. He and his son frequently worked on cars and restoring his Chevy Chevelle together. He was well versed in music and shared that passion with his daughter. Additionally, he found enjoyment in boating and spent many years at Highland Lake and Lake Pocotopaug. Tom treasured spending time with family, colleagues, and both childhood and college friends. He demonstrated unwavering dedication and loyalty to all those he cherished. He will be remembered for his immense wisdom, humor and kind, compassionate spirit.
In addition to his wife and father, Tom is survived by his son, Justin T. Maddalena of Newington; his daughter, Jami M. Maddalena of Newington; his two brothers, Joseph M. Maddalena, Jr of New Haven and Michael Maddalena of Waterbury and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be on Friday, November 15, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. in Thomaston. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday at St. Joseph Church 33 Queen St. in Bristol. Burial and prayers of committal will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
