Obituary

Thomaston- Mr. Walter Babey, 91, died Thursday, October 8, at Litchfield Woods in Torrington. He was the husband of the late Alexandria (Dombroski) Babey. Mr. Babey was born December 20, 1917 in Hamtramck, MI son of the late Ivan (John) and Julia (Kobluck) Babey. He had retired from Seth Thomas Clock after 43 years of employment. A WWII veteran he had served honorably in the United States Army. Walter had a love of music and had been a bass player for years and had played in the Seth Thomas Band, Wes Billings Band and the Teddy Grohoski band. He enjoyed stamp collecting, golf, hooking rugs and crafts and was a communicant of St. Thomas Church. He is survived by three special friends, Gayle Cabral and Robert and Jacinthe Rimbach. Arrangements: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 12, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
