Mr. William J. Sanford THOMASTON - William J. Sanford, 78, of Railroad St., died December 28, 2008 at his home. He was the widow to Mary Kay Sanford. Mr. Sanford was born October 2, 1930 in the home on Railroad Street, son of the late Ruth (Bierce) and William Harvey Sanford. William worked for many years as a Supervisor at Plume and Atwood. In his later years he worked at Neddermans Florist. William was a member of Thomaston Fish and Game Club, he was an avid hunter, fisher and gun collector. He is survived by a daughter; Debra Sanford of New York, a brother, Peter and his wife Carolyn of Thomaston, two grandchildren, Heather Dunham and Jason Sanford and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Thomas Sanford, three brothers, Walter, Edward, David, three sisters, Frances Root, Loretta Dusak, and Ethel Chizinski. Arrangements: A memorial service will be in the spring at the Thomaston Fish and Game Club. Lyons Funeral Home has care of the arrangements.
