Thomaston – Mr. Alfred J. Budris passed away on Sunday, December 29.

Alfred was born January 28, 1933 in Waterbury, son of the late Alfred I. and Vera (Remeika) Budris. He had served in the United States Army from November 13, 1953 until his honorable discharge on November 12, 1956. He then went on to a sixty seven year career as director of logistics for the United States Army in Okinawa Japan, Torii Station.

He is survived by his sister, Ruth Strong and her husband Gedmund of NC; many nieces and nephews, including, Tom Budris, Sr. and his wife Jessica of Terryville, with whom Alfred lived, Kathy Eaves and her husband Mark of NC, Mary Phinney of NC, Lynn Strong of GA and close friends, Barbara Costanzo, Brian J. Foster, Thomas Blade and Penny Sedgwick. He was predeceased by his brother, William Budris, Sr and his nephews Gedmund Strong, Jr and Brian Budris, Sr.

The family would like to thank the following Terryville businesses for helping care for Alfred: Plymouth Motor Lodge, McDonalds Restaurant, Dunkin Donuts in Adams Plaza, Adams Grocery Store, CVS Pharmacy, Spiga Restaurant, Hometown Pizza, Smokin Skull BBQ, Huggard Exteriors and JP Dunn Heating and Cooling of Northfield (Joseph Wilt).

A private graveside service will full military honors will be held in the Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston.
