Dear Bettie,
I was so sorry to hear of Charlie's death. He was a very good friend to me. I remember the start of my time at St. Thomas. I was alone- Fr. Flynn was in the hospital, and I was faced with the beginning of our religious education program. I was lost. I didn't know what to do- until Charlie showed up and said, "I've got it all set up." It was the first of many times he was there for me. I'll never forget him. He'll always be in my thoughts and prayers. This morning I said Mass for Charlie at my retirement home. My sincere condolences to you and your family.

Dear Bettie and Family, You have all been a "rock" to us during all of our years. All of us are saddened beyond belief that Charlie has passed. He always reached out to comfort us during the joyous times in our life as well as the saddest times, also. His sense of humor, his love and guidance. were shared with each of us. Bettie, you know of our love for you both. Will be glad to see you at the GATES OF HEAVEN, Charlie.
We love you,
Theresa,Bill and Jim Wessman

We had the privilege to know Charlie for almost 50 years. He was always a kind, compassionate, gracious, and thoughtful person with everyone he met. A family and community minded person always committed to helping others. One of those rare people you feel special being with. We will miss him but grateful he walked among us as friend, neighbor, and community servant. While out of state and unable to pay our respects in person, our thoughts and prayers-God speed Charlie.
