Northfield- Charles R. Veronneau, 64, passed away on Friday, September 14, due to a sudden illness. He is the husband of Rena (Lemire)(Lawrence) Veronneau

Born in 1953, he was the son of Roland Veronneau of Waterbury and the late Marcia (Rasmusson) Veronneau. Raised in Prospect, he attended Algonquin School, Sacred Heart High (1971), St. Michael College (1975)(BA),and University of New Haven (1980)(MBA). He achieved his Master Electrical License (E1) in 1980 and is Solar Certification in 2008. He lived in Waterbury for many years then moved to Northfield in 2006.

Charlie started Veeco Inc in 1983 and continued till his passing. Always an industrial and commercial electrical contractor, he used to brag that he only wired one house, his own, back in 2006. Veeco completed many industrial and hotel projects in the area. In 2009, he entered the emerging commercial solar arena, completing projects such as Fairfield and Trumbull High Schools.

Charlie was a member of the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) serving as their president in 1980. He was a director at IMTI Training School in Waterbury for many years.
Charlie was an avid trout fisherman on the Farmington River in the Riverton area, spending many enjoyable hours with great friends. He also enjoyed golfing at Greenwoods and camping a White Pines Campground in Barkhamsted.
In addition to his wife Rena, he leaves behind his father Roland Veronneau and his step-mother Joan; one daughter, Christine M. Basil and her husband Jason of Baldwinville, MA and three sons, Michael C. Veronneau and his wife Kyle of Wethersfield, Christopher P. Lawrence of Terryville, and Patrick D. Veronneau and his wife Lauren of Wallingford; one brother Raymond Veronneau and his wife Andrea and his seven grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, McKenzie, Tyler, Sophia, Olivia, Matthew, Madison and Luke.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hartford Healthcare Hospice and the staff of the Village at East Farms.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 18, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Lyons Home 46 High St Thomaston. A Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Charlie’s name to Hartford Healthcare Hospice 1290 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 4B Wethersfield, CT 06109 ATTENTION: Watertown Office
