Mrs Diane Zwick

October 28, 1953 ~ February 20, 2019 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Tribute

Morris – Mrs. Diane V. Zwick, 65, a living angel of our times and dear friend too many, passed away on Wednesday morning, February 20, in Torrington. She was the wife of Robert Zwick.

Diane was born October 28, 1953 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Ricard and Jacqueline (Theil) VanBuren. Diane was raised in Thomaston, where she attended local schools and was a graduate of Thomaston High School class of 1971. She worked in accounting and bookkeeping for local companies over the years.

Diane’s love for life was infectious. Her contagious laugh and vibrant blue eyes will never be forgotten. She would talk to strangers and make them feel like they were family. She would unconditionally share her love with her cats and dogs. When it came to her close friends, there wasn’t a thing she wouldn’t do for them, and this was what made her so special to us all. Diane was a wonderful woman that was loved. She will be missed and will always be cherished. Thank you, Diane, for gracing us with your love of life.

The special man in her life was one, Bobby. She truly enjoyed being with her loving husband, for he was the center of her world for over 42 years. As a couple they traveled together, and made wonderful memories not only for themselves, but shared those memories with their friends and family.

In addition to husband Robert, Diane is survived by three brothers, Richard VanBuren and his wife Ellie of Thomaston, Steven VanBuren and his wife Darlene of Northfield and David VanBuren and his wife Debbie of FL and several brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 28, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. in Thomaston. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Burial will be in the spring in the Hillside Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Diane’s name to the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care 200 Kennedy Drive Torrington, CT 06790 or to the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) 366 Main St. Terryville, CT 06786.
