Thomaston – Douglas J. Buell, 68, passed away on Friday, July 12, at St. Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Carol A. (Cozza) Buell.
Doug was born in Waterbury on August 19, 1950, son of the late Douglas A. and Mary (McKenna) Buell. Raised in Waterbury he attended local schools and was a graduate of Crosby High School, class of 1968. He served in the Army National Guard. In December of 1979 Doug and Carol opened Buell’s Florist and have been serving the Thomaston area ever since. He was a former member and past president of the Thomaston Lions Club.
In addition to his wife Carol, Doug is survived by one son, Anthony J. Buell of Thomaston; two brothers, Albert and Robert Buell and three nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 16, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 17, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury.
