Mr Edward E. Corey Jr

Thomaston – Mr. Edward E. “Sonny” Corey Jr, 85, passed away on Saturday, September 15, at Cook Willow Convalescent Home in Plymouth. He was the husband of Frances “Betty” (Pagarulo).

Edward was born January 22, 1933 in Torrington, son of the late Edward E. and Jenny (Theeb) Corey, Sr. Raised in Torrington he had attended local schools and was an automotive mechanic for many years, working for many area firms. He had served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post # 2.

He is survived by his children, Edward L. Corey of Torrington, Richard Corey of Torrington, Mary Lisa Lussier of NY, Michelle Corey of Torrington and Jill Corey of Torrington; and several grandchildren; as well as his former wife Velma L. Corey of Torrington.

He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey, daughter, Tammi, brothers, Ronald Corey and Roger Corey and sisters Margaret Corey, Jeannette Tubbs and Bernice Coon.

He is survived by brothers, Michael Corey, Louis Corey and Robert Corey; his sisters, Frieda Corey and Stella Corey; and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by wife Amelia “Dottie” (Crehan) Corey, and survived by his step-children, Cynthia Hamel, Wendy Miller, Sandra White, Rebecca Bradshaw, Teresa Crusius and Timothy Crehan; and several grandchildren.

Inurnment with military honors will be held in the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown on Wednesday Sept. 26th, 2018 at 11 am.
