Thomaston – Mrs. Ele Ross, 88, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 5, 2018, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Clemens Ross, who predeceased her in 2016.
Ele was born in Lithuania on July 25, 1929, daughter of the late Dominic and Adeline Dzerkel. She immigrated to the United States in 1949.
Ele worked for Timex (Bendix) Corporation for 37 years. She will be remembered most for her unending love of her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends, and her outgoing nature, generosity, kindness, laughter, and hugs. She was an excellent cook and baker, as well as a very talented seamstress, knitter and craft lover. She enjoyed working with her hands and tackled many home projects. She enjoyed playing pool, skiing, and ballroom dancing with her family and friends.
Ele is survived by her son, Jeffrey Ross and his wife Susan of Roswell, GA; her daughter, Lori Mains and her husband Peter of Avon, CT; four grandchildren, Lindsay, Jon, and Chris Ross, and Madison Mains.
The family would like to thank the team led by Carrie Eyman, of Hartford Healthcare at Home, and Renata and Mariola of Euro HomeCare for the care they gave to Ele over the last six weeks.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 17 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church in Thomaston. Burial will be private.
