Tribute

Genevieve “Jean” J Marsh of Thomaston, Connecticut passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on July 1st, 2019, the day after celebrating her 91st birthday.

Jean was born June 30,1928 in Hartford, Connecticut to Stanley & Honora (Cackowski) Malinowski. She graduated from Mt St Joseph’s Academy and began her career with Aetna Iife Ins Co in Hartford. She belonged to the Polish National Home in Hartford where she met the love of her life, Zigmund Marsh, and raised their four children in the home he built for them in Thomaston. She worked at Risdon Corp until her retirement.

Her heart was full of love and generosity, her ears were always eager to listen, and her laughter could be heard from afar. She enjoyed traveling and would buy a magnet for her refrigerator in every place she visited. She loved home-cooked meals and was always counted on to bring her own Tupperware.

She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years Zig and son-in-law Tim Maynard.

She leaves behind her children: Barb Maynard and companion Steve Platt of Granby, Connecticut. David Marsh & wife Susan of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Jeff Marsh & wife Lisa of Terryville, Connecticut, Tom Marsh of Colchester, Connecticut, and her beloved 4th son - Nuno Vieira of Thomaston, Connecticut. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Ashley, Alexandra, Allyson, Taylor, Kyle, Logan & Morgan.
