Watertown – George H. Parson, Sr., 82, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 after a brief illness at Cook Willow Convalescent Home in Plymouth.

Mr. Parson was born October 16, 1938 in Waterbury, son of the late Herbert and Alma (Kay) Parson. He was raised in Thomaston and attended local schools and was a graduate of Thomaston High School. George started his working career in the Engineering Department as a draftsman at Seth Thomas Clocks in Thomaston and worked for many years in product design and Engineering at Seth Thomas, Stromberg, Hamilton Beach, Remington and other companies.

In his earlier days, he enjoyed working with the volunteer ambulance crew in Thomaston for a few years and serving in the USA Army National Guard for 4 years. Later, while at Seth Thomas he traveled extensively on business including many visits to Japan.

George is survived by his son, George H. Parson, of Collinsville, CT; a daughter, Amanda Ruth Stearns, of Barre, VT; his former wife and close friend, Antoinette Parson Kropp; as well as two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Anticoli of Torrington.

He was predeceased by his brother, Herbert Parson; and his sister, Ruth A. Lundberg, both of Thomaston.

Due to the pandemic, services will be held at a later date to be announced.
