May 31, 1940 ~ June 14, 2020 (age 80) 80 Years Old
Thomaston – Mr. Gerard E. Huot, 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Janice R. (Wrightman) Huot.
He was born on May 31, 1940 in Coaticook, Quebec, Canada, son of the late Dennis and Alice (Jalbert) Huot.
He moved to Vermont in 1945, then to Middlebury, CT, where he met the love of life, his wife Janice. They were married for 58 years and enjoyed dancing together, working outside and taking long walks.
He was employed at Heritage Village for 39 years as director of operations. He loved going to car shows and driving his 57 Chevy. He cherished his family and loved spending time with them.
In addition to his wife, Gerard is survived by his son and best friend, Christopher Huot and his wife Tracy of VA; his loving daughter, Alicia Mailloux and her husband John of Watertown; his beloved grandchildren, John and Brandon Mailloux; his sister-in-law, Kathy Wrightman and Dawn Horgan and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Jeanette Clayton and his dear friends Donald and Laraine Leveillee.
A Mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday, June 18, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church (St. Maximillian Kolbe Parish) in Thomaston. Burial and committal prayers will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
