Thomaston – Grayce K. Maher, 99, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Cook Willow in Plymouth.
Grayce was born in Waterbury, daughter of the late Henry and Katherine (Lonergan) Maher. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School and Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Mass. She retired in 1988 as administrative assistant to the President and executives at Anaconda American Brass Company. She traveled extensively after retirement throughout Europe and the United States. She lived many years in Vero Beach, FL where she had numerous friends and enjoyed playing golf and bridge with them. She was a former member of the Torrington Country Club, the Watertown Golf Club, and an ARCO Retiree.
Grayce is survived by her niece, Martha Guarino and her husband Pat with whom she made the last years of life her home; Nephew Kevin Maher of Florida; her close grand-nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, Amy Leone and her husband John, and Michael Guarino and his wife Kellie. A nephew, Stephen Michael Maher, predeceased Grayce.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Cook Willow for the love and care shown towards Grayce during her stay with them.
A private burial will take place in St. Thomas Cemetery in Thomaston and a memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date.
