Helen (Sekellick) Yeich, 100, of Thomaston, formerly of Southington, died peacefully on Monday, May 14, 2018.
Born in Cass, PA she was the daughter of Susan Troyanowsky and Anthony Sekellick. Helen has predeceased her nine brothers and sisters and her loving husband, of 67 years, Henry. Helen married Henry Yeich on November 19, 1938 in Akrow, PA. Shortly, thereafter, Helen and Henry moved to Southington where she was a devout house wife and raised two children Robert and Nancy. She worked at Allied Control in the Parts and Assembly section, for 10 years after raising her children, then relocated to Greeneville, TN. for 30 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and was an excellent baker. Helen and Henry loved the outdoors and spent many hours on walking and hiking adventures in the Smoky Mountains, until Henry passed in 2007. She returned to CT and took residence in Thomaston.
Helen was a kind, strong willed woman who lived life her way and will be missed by all who are left to mourn: son Robert Yeich and his wife Colette from Windsor, daughter Nancy Grzeika and her husband Mark from Thomaston, two Grandchildren Jonathan Yeich and wife Melissa, Rachel Mendoza and husband Julio, and three Great Grandchildren Gavin Yeich, Bradyn Yeich and Jaiden Mendoza.
A Memorial Service will be held in Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St Thomaston on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at 11:30 AM. Helen will be returned to Greeneville, Tennessee to be reunited with her husband Henry at Greene Lawn Memory Gardens.
