Herbert Edward Laplante

Thomaston – Herbert Edward Laplante, 93, of Thomaston, passed away on July 16, 2022 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the loving husband of Rogene Laplante for the past 73 years.

Herb was born on August 8, 1928 in Greenfield, MA., son of the late Harold and Faith (Buffum) Laplante. Herb worked at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft for 34 years as a Master Mechanic until his retirement. He had a love for gardening and fishing, and he was a long time Communicant of the Covenant Church in Thomaston. He was also a member of the Thomaston Senior Center.

Besides his wife Rogene, Herb leaves behind his four children, John H. Laplante and his wife Maureen of Thomaston, Gregory P. Laplante and his wife Rebecca of Terryville, Dennis J. Laplante and his wife April of Thomaston, and Barbara F. Hanley and her husband Edward of Winsted; two sisters, Mary Howe of South Carolina, and Ruth Kelly of Massachusetts., 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Lorin Laplante, Donna Smith, and Frances Laplante.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at the Covenant Church of Thomaston, 64 Grove Street Thomaston, CT 06787. Burial was held privately.
