James M. Aniki, 64, passed away on November 5, at home after a very long illness. He was the husband of Diane (Makl) Aniki.
 

James was born June 27, 1955 in Newport, RI, son of the late Michael and Geraldine Aniki. Jim grew up and was educated in Millis, MA.
Jim met his devoted wife, Diane, on Block Island, where they worked for several years before returning to CT.

hey moved their family to Thomaston in 1991, where Jim became active in the community. He coached Little League, CYO basketball and was very involved with the boy scouts, serving as Scout Master for many years. Jim had a long career as a chef, working at many area restaurants. He was also the owner of Jimmy’s Fish Market in Thomaston.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons George, wife Jami, granddaughter Mary; and Joseph, all of Thomaston. Additionally, he leaves his mother-in-law Claire Makl; brother Mark of Florida; nieces and nephews Eva, Daniel, Milena and Douglas. Jim was predeceased by his brother Peter and sister Elizabeth.
 

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Lyons Funeral Home in Thomaston. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, November 11, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will be private.
