Thomaston – Late on Wednesday morning, February 10, 2021, a very dear friend and brother in Christ, John Michael Hyland, Jr., left his earthen vessel behind and ascended into the very presence of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ according to the Bible’s promise in 2Corinthians 5:6-8.
He was the beloved husband and best friend of Donna (Montello) Hyland for 41 years.
John was born in Waterbury on March 2, 1950, son of the late John Michael Hyland Sr. and Evelyn (Mitchell) Hyland. John proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a Sergeant for the Waterbury Police Department before his retirement.
John was one of the good men we have had the blessing to know in our lifetime. A kind and generous loving soul whose life, though ended here, will be missed and long remembered by those who knew him until we meet him again in glory. He loved his family beyond words and will be dearly missed.
Including his loving wife, Donna, he leaves behind his children, Kelli Hyland; and Melissa Hyland; his siblings, William Hyland (Diana Phaneuf); Robert Hyland (Lisa); David Hyland (Lorry); and Nancy Galpin (Robert); his grandchildren, Nikolas Radaskie (Kali Sastrum) and Shayne Radaskie; his great grandchildren, Cameron Behling; Dominic Radaskie; and Brayden Radaskie; his brothers in law, Edward Bouffard (Beverly); and Robert Montello; many nieces and nephews including Audra Vanegghen (Robert); and Jill Zaksheske (Daniel); and his beloved dog, Cutter.
He was predeceased by his brother, James Hyland; and his sister in law, Sally Montello.
John’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the outstanding doctors and nurses in the ICU at St. Mary’s Hospital; especially his amazing nurse, Kristi, who was truly a blessing.
Services for John will be held privately.
