Thomaston – Mrs. June Gladys (Finkle) Thompson, 82, passed away on Friday morning, June 28, at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital She was the widow of Richard S. Thompson, Sr, and they had been married for sixty five years.
June was born April 28, 1937 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Carl and Gladys (Monroe) Finkle. She was lifelong resident of Thomaston, she enjoyed camping and traveling to Florida with her husband. She will be remembered for her love of family and her devotion to her cat Ebony.
She is survived by two sons, Bruce O. Thompson of Thomaston and Michael P. Thompson of Wells River, VT; two daughters, Caroline R. Brague and her husband William of Thomaston and Laura J. Moses and her husband Earl Whitcomb of Milford, DE; her daughter-in-law, Lori Thompson of Southington; one brother, Eugene Finkle of Cheshire; one sister, Betty Torres of Waterbury; fourteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by two sons, Richard S. Thompson, Jr and Terry L. Thompson; one daughter, Vanessa L. Thompson and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Thompson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 2, at 12:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Northfield Cemetery.
