Mr Kirk T. Sanford Sr
November 20, 1943 ~ March 9, 2020 (age 76) 76 Years Old
Thomaston – Mr. Kirk T. Sanford, Sr., 76, passed away on Monday, March 9, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. He was the husband of the late Diane G. (Perbeck) Sanford.
Kirk was born November 20, 1943 in Waterbury, son of the late Dayton G. and Madonna (Gallagher) Sanford. He was a graduate of Thomaston High School, Class of 1962, and had attended Post College. He had been employed by Patterson Oil, where he managed Thomaston Shell, Thomaston Tire, Watertown Gulf, and Thomaston Gulf.
He is survived by three sons, Kirk T. Sanford, Jr. and his wife Michele of Watertown; Michael D. Sanford and his wife Michelle of Northfield and Donald J. Sanford of Thomaston; two daughters, Dawn M. Miller and her husband Kevin of Greenwich, NY and Corallee A. Curtiss and her husband James of Hyannis, MA; two step-daughters, Lorraine A. Luziette of Milford and Lynne M. Masi and her husband Christopher of Plymouth, with whom Kirk lived with; one sister, Gail Siemiatkoski and her husband Richard of Thomaston; one brother, James A. Serenson and his wife Josephine of FL; twelve grandchildren, Nicole, Alex, Ashlie, Jake, Joshua, Kyle, Breanna, Logan, Lynzie, Taylor, Lexi, and Ace; one great-granddaughter, Abigail, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Gary Sanford, and sister, Ellen Holdridge.
The family is incredibly thankful for the love and care Lynne and Chris have provided to Kirk.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 15, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston, with a prayer service following at 7:00 P.M. Burial in St. Thomas Cemetery will be private.
