It was my pleasure to teach English with Margaret at Bristol Eastern High School in the 1970's. She set high standards and demanded only the best from her students. She was passionate about teaching and made sure that her students left her class with the skills necessary to succeed, not only in high school, but in life as well. There are literally thousands of former students (including my daughter) who benefitted from her patience and kindness. She exemplified teaching at its finest.

What an wonderful teacher and kind woman! I graduated from BEHS in 1992 and have never forgotten her. Her passion for the written word was infectious. She managed to reach each and every student in her classroom -- no matter their skill level or desire to learn the material. Her friends and family are in my thoughts.

Miss Taylor was a dynamic, passionate, and engaging teacher; the kind you never forget! Teaching freshman English was probably challenging many days, but she took it in stride and brought out the best in her students, while sharing her love of literature. She will be missed.

She was an exceptional teacher, I will never forget the lessons that she taught me. Her love of Shakespeare was contagious and her joy of teaching was inspiring. She was my favorite teacher and I have very fond memories. She will be missed and remembered.

Margaret was very knowledgeable in English. The rigor she demanded in her subject was extraordinary! Many of her students have looked back on her teaching with great appreciation for her rigor and dedication.

I am forever grateful that I had "M. A. Taylor" for my Freshman English class at Bristol Eastern High School! It wasn't easy going from a small, Catholic K-8 school to a fairly large high school. Her class was my sanctuary- my favorite class that year, and I looked forward to it every single day. Her extensive classroom lending library turned me into a lifelong reader, and inspired me to have a lending library in my own classroom.

Margaret and I shared many things. We taught at the same school for many years. She loved finding a new restaurant and bringing me to share a great meal. She'd remind me of the daffodils in the spring and loved the fall foliage. I will miss you my friend.

Ms. Taylor taught me a respect for classic literature that carried me through my master's degree in secondary education. I'm proud to say I was her student. May she Rest In Peace.

Margaret was a very kind soul and walked gently through life. She had a childlike wonder for the simple joys in life, she was excited for each approaching holiday and the traditions each held for her. She loved her large family and all the memories of the gatherings shared. She was respectful and courteous to everyone and reached out to strangers in kindness. She truly cared about you and what you were going through in life and tried to brighten your day. I admired so much about her. She had an old fashioned sense of dignity and manners that endured and endeared through her life. A very lovely woman who will be greatly missed. How fortunate I have been to have had her as my cousin.

I remember what a good basketball player Margaret was in high school. I remember walking around the playground at Grove Street School with her, as she pointed out all the cousins that we shared. What a kind person Margaret was.

Margaret was an encouraging and supportive spirit and I enjoyed her regular visits to the Thomaston Public Library. Her absence these past few months had been noted, and she will be missed. A great reader, a kind person. My condolences to her family and friends.

As a colleague of Margaret's at Bristol Eastern High School, I held her in the highest regard. She was called to be a teacher and fulfilled the role with excellence. Not only did she teach the structure of the English language, she also taught by example how one was to live an honorable life. Margaret, you will be sorely missed on this earth!
