Thomaston – Mr. Martin E. Albrecht, 78, passed away Tuesday morning, Aguste 23, at his home. He was the husband of Janet Albrecht.
Marty was born June 6, 1944 in Wethersfield, son of the late Martin Albrecht and Hele (Alexander) Cipriano. Raised in Thomaston and Plymouth he attend local schools and was a graduate of Wilby High School in Waterbury, class of 1962. He worked for the Town of Thomaston on the road crew for 23 years, retiring as crew leader. He was a former member of the Thomaston Volunteer Fire Department, a life member of the Thomaston Fish and Game Club and a member of the Liederkranz.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Steven Albrecht and his wife Wendy of NH and John Albrecht and his wife Jennifer of Thomaston; one daughter, Wendy Albrecht and her companion Dave of Southbury; two sisters, Marian Dwyer of Torrington and Sylvia Martin and her husband Roy of Litchfield; six grandchildren, Jared, Rebecca, Molly, Morgan, Kaela and Breanna; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Anne Cinq-Mars.
Per Marty’s wishes there will be no formal services.
