Thomaston – Mary M. Bartlett, 83, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. She was the wife of the late Walter Bartlett.
Mary was born in Cranston, Rhode Island on June 26, 1936 to the late George Leonard and Isabelle (Simpson) Wolfe. She enjoyed trips to the Thomaston Library, gardening, and baseball, especially the Boston Red Sox. She was cookie chairman of the Girl Scouts and volunteered for Thomaston Wetlands. She was President of M.R. Bart Construction for 35 years with her son, Gary. She took pride in being a great baker, with her famous Christmas cookies. But most importantly, her greatest pride was her beloved family.
Mary is survived by her children, Brenda Bartlett, and her husband, Paul Mortimer, of Sydney, Australia; Gary Bartlett, and his wife, Peggy, of Plymouth; Donna Whitbeck, and her husband, Howard, of Winsted; and Paula Kraus, and her partner, Silvio Martorelli, of Waterbury; her grandchildren, George Tyler Bartlett; Lowell Bartlett; Mallory Vanderhoef; Danielle Mariotti; Nicholas Bartlett; and Matthew Bartlett; and her 9 great-grandchildren.
Including her husband, Walter, Mary was predeceased by her son, George Bartlett.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St. Thomaston. A funeral home service will be held at 6 p.m. Burial will be held in the spring.
