Tribute

Terryville – Mrs. Mary-Jo (Rehnberg) Roberts, 85, formerly of Waterbury, died on Saturday, November 23, at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the widow of Daniel J. Roberts, II.
 
Mrs. Roberts was born November 17, 1934 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy (Regan) Rehnberg. Raised in Waterbury she attended local schools and graduated from Teacher’s College of Connecticut now known as Central Connecticut State University. She was a teacher, homemaker and a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish where she was a lector and a member of the Wednesday morning small-prayer group. She also was a volunteer for several years at the former Park Manor Convalescent Home and provided sandwiches to the St. Vincent DePaul Shelter for many years. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church for 42 years before moving to Terryville, where she was a member of St. Thomas Church until the time of her death.
 
She is survived by her three children, all of whom she loved, William J. Roberts and his wife Lynn of Old Wethersfied, Maureen E. McMahon and her husband Paul of Thomaston and Anne L. Lucey and her husband John of Bedford, NH; her sister-in-law, Mary L. Roberts of Quincy, MA; seven grandchildren, whom she loved and cherished, Greil Roberts, Sigourney Hamilton, Owen, Luke and Jack McMahon and Danielle and Gabriel Lucey, and two great-grandchildren, Elaina Roberts and Chase Hamilton.
 
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 26, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St. Thomaston. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M at St. Thomas Church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury.
