Dear family, your hearts must be heavy. The Lord is merciful and gracious. Romans 8:38-39. "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to seperate us from the love of God that is Christ Jesus our Lord." I remember Mathew as a good person who cared about and respected his teachers and friends. He was one of the most outstanding young men at Thomaston High School. He was a good athlete and a responsible person, you raised him well with good values. I always knew Mathew would serve others with humility, I thank you for his military service. Certainty that kind of training and work is a great sacrifice. I am sure his colleagues, friends and even strangers miss him. I miss him although I have been gone from Connecticut for years. I now live in Houston, I'm sorry for my belated condolences. I have said prayers for Mathew after his passing and I will continue to do so for you as you grieve your son, or your brother. Mathew was an amazing boy and man he definitely shared his light with the world when he was with us. I'm guessing things must have been hard. Thankfully God is forgiving and merciful to his creation. Mathew is God's creation, his child; Mathew had his own life journey and lessons to be had. I wish you all well as move through the grieving stages. May the Lord be with you. I will make a gift In his honor, thack you for supporting the pantry.

My heart especially goes out to moms and dads who lose a child, no matter what age the pain felt is so real. What has helped me deal with my loss and brought the most comfort is this account in the Bible at Luke 7:11-15. May this bring hope and peace, we will have our sons returned in the promised resurrection.

I remember matt as such a good kid playing sports with Jason. We have both lost our sons way too young. I can only hope they are in heaven together now re-newing their friendships. I was shocked to hear the news of Matt's passing. So many memories of Matt over the 35+ years we knew each other. Basketball of course leads the way in memories but over the last few years we always managed to run into each other in Thomaston and we would laugh over memories of the good old days. That is the one thing everyone remembers about Matt, his constant and infectious smile and laugh. My thoughts are with his family and all his friends during this time. RIP my friend...
