Thomaston – Mrs. Myrna (Lee) Kamens, 81, passed away on Sunday night, October 6, at her home. She was the widow of Bruce H. Kamens, her husband of almost of 60 years who passed away on August 23.
Myrna was born May 6, 1938 in Norwalk, daughter of the late J. Howard and Dorothy (Acton) Lee. Raised in Darien she attended local schools and was a graduate of Darien High School, class of 1956. She had been employed for many years at SNET in Darien and then Waterbury. After her children had grown, she went to back to work as an insurance agent, retiring from the Perreault Agency.
Myrna was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Thomaston; she had served as the Director of Christian Education and served on many boards and committees over the years.
She is survived by one son, Scott W. Kamens and his wife Lynn of Torrington; one daughter, Lisa K. Bunker and her husband Wayne of Torrington; one sister, Patricia Lee of Torrington; one brother-in-law, Wayne A. Kamens of Thomaston; four grandchildren, Mark Robinson, Andrew Robinson and his wife Christine, Daniel Kamens and his wife Karen and Meagan Hoffman and her husband Jeffrey; seven great-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 10, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Congregational Church of Thomaston, 135 Main St. Burial will be private.
