Thomaston – Nicholas P. Chizinski, 40, passed away on Saturday morning, July 13.
Nicholas was born July 10, 1979 in Torrington, son of Timothy P. and Ellen (DePecol) Chizinski of Thomaston. A lifelong resident of Thomaston, Nicholas attended local schools and was a graduate of Thomaston High School. He received his culinary degree from Bristol Tech and his certification in HVAC from Porter and Chester. He was currently employed with his father and brother at Clocktown Landscape. He enjoyed golf, horseshoes, playing cards, his bulldogs and most especially cooking for family and friends.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his brother, Andrew P. Chizinski and his wife Kelly of Thomaston; his paternal grandmother, Eleanor Chizinski of Thomaston; his niece Sadie; the love of his life, Conni Longo and her daughter, Jocelyn; his three aunts, Tina Kell and her husband Ted, Elaine McEachern and Joann Chizinski; and eight cousins, Danielle, Ben, Kelly, Matt, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Ryan and Greg. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Chester P. Chizinski; his maternal grandparents, Benjamin D. and Mary (Ryan) DePecol and his uncles, Jim DePecol, Paul DePecol and Paul Chizinski.
A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 20, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will be private. A celebration of Nicholas’s life will be held following the mass at 1:00 P.M. at the American Legion Clifford French Post # 22, 211 Elm St. in Thomaston.
