Tribute

Thomaston - Paige Jordan Batten, 14, passed away peacefully on June 14th, 2019 in the arms of her parents and grandfather from an undiagnosed heart condition.  She was the loving daughter of Stephen Batten of Thomaston and Ashlee Stabile of Waterbury.  Paige recently received her Middle School Diploma from Waterbury Arts Magnet School in Waterbury.

In addition to her parents, Paige is survived by her sister Aria Luna; her paternal grandmother, Michele Hastings Lee and great-grandmother Joan Batten; her maternal grandfather Robert Stabile and great-grandfather Donald Stabile; her maternal grandmother Laurie Smith and her husband John Smith;  as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Paige was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Lorraine E. Stabile.

Paige accomplished quite a bit in her 14 years here with us.  She was an incredibly bright and gifted young woman.  In 2018, she earned a black belt through her training at Litchfield Tang Soo Do where she had many friends and mentors and a passion for teaching and working with the junior belts.  Paige loved all kinds of music and was a talented singer and musician.  She played the violin, piano, harmonica and excelled at nearly everything she attempted.  She spent years as the goalie and captain of several soccer teams, including an all boys team where she proved she could keep up and even insisted on playing with a broken finger.  Paige was beautiful, inside and out and has truly inspired and touched the lives of so many.

A wake will be held Monday between the hours of 2-6 pm at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St. Thomaston. A celebration of Paige’s life will be held in the near future where all friends and family will be invited to attend and share their memories of Paige.

The family would like to thank and recognize Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford for the amazing care they provided as well as the love and generosity from so many during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Paige Batten Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Thomaston Savings Bank, 203 Main Street, Thomaston CT 06787.
