Mr Peter W. Thulin Sr

Northfield – Mr. Peter William Thulin, Sr, 82, passed away on Friday, June 24, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. He was the husband of Judy A. (Petosa) Thulin.

Peter was born May 28, 1940 in Torrington, son of the late Peter M. and Lucy P. (Kelmelis) Thulin. Raised in Thomaston he attended local schools and was a graduate of Thomaston High School, class of 1958. Upon graduation, Peter enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served honorably for four years. He then went to work for the Torrington Company in the needle shop for many years before becoming a weight and safety inspector for the State Police. He will be remembered as a loving and faithful family man.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Peter W. Thulin, Jr of Springfield, MA; his daughter, Lynette P. Thulin Semonich and her husband Michael of Torrington; his sister, Judy Thulin Dallavalle of Muriel’s Inlet, SC; four grandchildren, Peter W. Thulin, III of Northfield, Michael J. Semonich, Jr of Torrington, Tyler J. Semonich of Torrington and Emma N. Semonich of Torrington and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 28, at 11:00 A.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Friends may visit with Peter’s family from 9:30 A.M. until time of service. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
