Thomaston - Bucky Bothroyd passed away peacefully on Monday evening, October 26, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was the husband of Mary Lou (Bowkett) Bothroyd.
Bucky was born in Thomaston on July 13, 1942 to the late James E. and Virginia H. Bothroyd. He was a lifelong resident of Thomaston and the owner of Jimmie’s Pool Water, along with his sons, Robert and Jimmy.
Besides his wife, Bucky is survived by his sons, Robert Jr. and his wife Janet, James A. and his wife Bridget, and his grandchildren Gillian, James M. and Conner. Bucky leaves behind his brother James W. and his wife Beatrice and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Nancy Peck and Scott Bothroyd and his niece Wendy.
Bucky’s family would like to thank the caregivers that were with him through this time- Christina, Lewie, Lisa, Peggy, and Stacy, in addition to the staff at Foothills VNA for all of their help.
Walk thru calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 1, from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston (Covid 19 restrictions and social distancing will be strictly enforced). Services and burial will be private.
