Thomaston – Ronald J. LaPointe, 70, of Thomaston, passed away at home on November 17, 2018. He was the loving husband of Pamela (Desrochers) LaPointe.
Ronald was born on December 18, 1947 in Hartford, son of the late Raymond J. and Lorraine Y. (St. Germain) LaPointe. Ronald was a graduate of Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford and Boston College. Ronald worked as a Circulation Director at a number of newspapers around the country including; The Hartford Times Newspaper, the Bristol Press/Valley Press, The Duluth Herald in Duluth, Minnesota, the New Jersey Herald, the Longview News Journal in Longview, Texas, the Holyoke Transcript Telegram, and the Washington Times. Ronald had a love for history and was also a diehard Boston College Football and New York Yankees fan.
Besides his wife Pamela, Ronald is survived by three daughters, Monique LaPointe of Atlanta, GA, Danielle Deloy and her husband Robert of Wolcott, and Madeleine LaPointe De Sierra and her husband Valentin Sierra of Boston; three grandchildren, Tristan LaPointe, Nicolas Deloy, and Allergra Sierra LaPointe; four nieces and nephews, Kim Reilly, Tammy LaPenta, Kevin and Jason LaPointe; and many extended family and close friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert LaPointe.
Family and friends may call on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 24 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church (St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish) 1 East Main St. Thomaston. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
