Northfield – Mr. Stanley W. Rutkowski, 77, passed away on Saturday, October 20, at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. He joins his loving wife of 47 years, the late Rosann M. (Knox) Rutkowski.
Stanley was born March 5, 1941 in Waterbury, son of the late Stanley C. and Evelyn (Rosignol) Rutkowski. Raised in Northfield, he attended local schools and was a graduate of Oliver Wolcott Technical High School. He retired from Yankee Gas in 2000. He was a member of the Thomaston Fish and Game Club, the Liederkranz in Thomaston and the Veneta Society in Torrington.
He is survived by two sons, Stanley W. Rutkowski, Jr and his wife Michelle Lataille of Stow, MA and Thomas C. Rutkowski and his wife Jennifer of Winsted; one daughter, Pamela J. Ehmke and her husband Todd of Torrington; one brother, John Rutkowski of Thomaston; one sister, Frances Berry of Bristol; five grandchildren, Eric, Ian, Evan, Gregory and Melissa and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, at 11:00 A.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
