Terryville – Wayne R. Fridrich Sr., 69, of Terryville, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Bristol Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of 22 years to Mrs. Jodee (Telke-Mackiewicz) Fridrich.

Wayne was born on April 16, 1948 in Torrington, son of the late John and Violet Fridrich. Wayne was a graduate of Thomaston High School class of 1966 and also attended Northwest Community College in Torrington and General Motors Training Center in Terrytown, NY. Wayne was a Master Mechanic and worked in the automotive industry for a number of years. For the past 20 years he ran his own company called WAYRICH Painting and Remodeling. Wayne loved motorcycles and was an avid rider and supporter of the Dream Ride; a yearly fundraiser for the Special Olympics. He also owned a classic car and loved going to classic car shows and museums. He was a member of the Thomaston Covenant Church where he served the Lord as Chairman of the Church and on the trustee and Diaconate Boards. He was the head usher and a lay reader.

Besides his wife, Wayne is survived by his brother, John Fridrich of Westford, MA., daughter, Kristin Vagner of Reno, NV; son in law, Jerry Snyder of Reno, NV., grandson, Nico Vagner; two step sons, Brian Mackiewicz of Fountain Hills, AZ, and Jason Mackiewicz of Forestville, CT; and step grandson, Derrick Mackiewicz.

Family and friends may visit with Wayne’s family on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston, CT. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 23 at 10:00 A.M. at the Thomaston Covenant Church, 64 Grove St. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery of Thomaston.

Wayne’s family would like to express sincere appreciation for the visits, cards, prayers, calls and support from family and friends.
