Mr William F. Tucker Sr

Watertown – Mr. William F. Tucker, Sr, 81, passed away on Thursday evening, April 7, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marjorie (Cote) Tucker.

Bill was born April 18, 1940 in Waterbury, son of the late Louis Edward and Josephine (Lonergan) Tucker. Raised in Waterville, he attended local schools and had served honorably in the United States Air Force. He had been employed at the Century Brass Company and had served as a union steward. Following the closure of Century Brass he had been employed as a truck driver for Manafort Brothers for several years, retiring in 2004 and was a member of the Teamsters Union #677.

Bill will be remembered for his love of family and all the many picnics and holidays, hunting in Vermont, scratch off tickets and Winners (OTB) .

He is survived by two sons, James Russo and his wife Tracey of Southington and William F. Tucker, Jr and his wife Karen of Waterbury; one daughter, Dina Russo of Watertown; one sister, Judy Bradshaw and her husband Roger of Thomaston; nine grandchildren three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by two sons, John Stone and Thomas Russo and his siblings, Irving Tucker, James Tucker, Marguerite Cote and Catherine Joan Tucker.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 10, from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:15 A.M. from the funeral home to Blessed Sacrament Church, 182 Robbins St. Waterbury, for Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon. Burial will be private.
