Mrs Anna Torrence

October 16, 1927 ~ March 9, 2017 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Thomaston – Mrs. Anna (Yatsenick) Torrence passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, at Waterbury Hospital in the loving embrace of her family. Ann was the widow of Eugene F. Torrence.

Ann was born October 16, 1927 in Terryville, daughter of the late Augustine K. Yatsenick and Maria Romaniak. She was employed at Seth Thomas Clock where she met her husband Gene and together they made their home in Thomaston to where all were welcome.

Ann was completely dedicated to family. She deeply loved her children, Trish, Ree, Peter and Gene and their loved ones, Keith, Jason and Robin; adored her grandchildren, Sarah, Alexa and Jake and cherished her great grandchildren, Carter and Jackson. Her love was bountiful and carried over to her many other adopted grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, her surviving sister Mary Kelly and all her friends old and new.

For all those who knew her and held her dear she was everyone’s…”Bonna”; a free spirit with a big heart, a spontaneous traveler, a fun loving lady, an icon to the Old Northfield Rd. gang, a loyal and trusted friend, an avid reader and a lover of nature and food. She loved to exercise and have a full daily calendar at 89 years young.

Ann loved life!! In addition to time with her immediate family she enjoyed adventures with her nieces, Cindy & Kim, time spent with her sister Mary, the Red Hatters, volunteering for the Waterbury Exchange Club and meeting at the senior center with friends. Her radiant smile and the positive energy she exuded will be missed.

The family was blessed to have incredible healthcare professionals providing kind, gentle loving care to Ann while at Waterbury Hospital. Thank you to the ED, Telemetry and ICU teams. Special thanks to K, George, Kass, Joey, Nancy, Carrie and Dr. Rich Silverman for treating her with such care and respect.
