Palm Bay, FL – Mrs. Deborah C. (Busby) Fray, 66, formerly of Thomaston, died Monday morning, April 7, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury with her family by her side. She was the widow of Charles R. “Chuck” Fray, Jr.

Deborah was born October 14, 1947 in Ottawa, Canada, daughter of the late Kenneth and Catherine (Christie) Busby. Raised in a military family, she grew up in Canada, Germany and then returned to Canada; at the age of twenty-two she moved to Connecticut and eventually settled in Thomaston. Deborah always had a special place in her heart for less privileged children, this led her to work in special education in the Nonnewaug and Region 7 schools.  

She was an active member of the Covenant Church of Thomaston and served on many boards, the most important to her was the missionary work. She was also a member of the Tres Dias of Northwest CT.  

She is survived by her daughter, Christie A Grabherr and her husband Michael of Thomaston; her son, Bill Donat and his wife Naomi of Manchester; two step-sons, Charlie R. Fray and his wife Ginger of Spring, TX and Christopher R. Fray and his wife Angela of Northfield; two brothers, Randy Busby of Halifax and John Busby of Montreal; one sister, Heather Birss of Calgary; her former husband, Vincent Donat and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by six grandchildren who were very close to her heart:  Samantha, Katie and Andrew Grabherr, Nicholas and Amanda Fray and Charlie Fray.

Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 10, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 11, at 4:00 P.M. at the Covenant Church 64 Grove St. Thomaston with Pastor Timothy Olsen officiating.
