Aunt Fran was my favorite person in our extended family. She was like a grandmother to me. I will always remember the many times I stayed with her in her little ranch house in Thomaston. She was an amazing host. In my childhood, Fran and I would share the pull-out couch in the living room while my great-grandfather slept in his room, my brother slept in the den, and my parents slept in Fran’s room. As the years past the sleeping arrangements varied depending on who was visiting with me, my mom, my brother, my husband, my dog, my kids. No matter how many people were visiting, Aunt Fran always opened up her little linen closet filled with clean nicely folded sheets and set us up for a comfortable stay; even if it meant that she herself was cured up on the sofa. I remember her saying she always slept better when she had visitors. One time a few years ago, I was sleeping on the pull-out couch in the den with my son when he got a bloody nose in the middle of the night. Magically Aunt Fran appeared at the bath room door with soothing words to calm us both down and then sent us back to bed with freshly changed sheets.

I will really miss my Aunt Fran and I will cherish the memories that I have had with her over the past 4 decades. She was great at retelling stories and remembering the past yet always creating new memories and making new friends. I strive to be like her in that way. At her house, instead of changing out the old pictures in the picture frames, new pictures were added and more frames were placed on the mantel and side tables. Her house became a museum of family photos. When I saw her in January I promised to visit in April. I am so sorry I was unable to see her again and have one last visit with her in her house. Fran would have turned 95 a couple days ago. She shares her birthday with her niece, my mom, Linda. We will never forget you Aunt Fran; you are forever in our hearts. Love, Emily

Happy birthday Aunt Fran. I am enjoying our special day. The rose tree you got for our birthday last year is showing signs of life again this spring. You are always with us.

My Great Grandma had a heart for her friends, family, and the Lord. She will be dearly missed, but she is where she is supposed to be. She doesn't have to suffer anymore. She is now with her mom, dad, sister, husband, son, and best friends.

Aunt Frances was not only one of the most special people in my youth, she was my God Mother! A wonderful woman who always welcomed me with a smile and a hug. My only regret is that she never met my newborn baby girl - Mirella. Having said that I know Frances is smiling down on us and blessing our day to day. Frances you will always be remembered.

"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard, but are always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear. "

Mrs. Thompson, this is truly how we feel. You've been a wonderful friend and neighbor and we will cherish all the memeories that we've had together.

It was always such a treat when Uncle Robert and Frances would come and visit in Canaan or when we would go to visit her in Thomaston. With such losses, she was truly a woman of faith. She was always genuinely pleasant, caring, a lover of life and couldn't wait to show you her latest photographs of her family. Frances, you will be missed for who you are and for what you gave while on this earth. Love Sally and family
